Heart of Caring provides emergency care and medical items, such as shower benches, smoke detectors and eyeglasses, for VNA’s low-income patients who are struggling.
Tribute and Memorial Gifts
You may designate any donation to VNA as a tribute gift in memory or in honor of an individual, family, group or occasion. Your gift will be acknowledged to the honoree’s family.
There are many ways in which businesses can help VNA provide care in the community, including employee volunteer opportunities and program or event sponsorship.
Donating stock is an excellent way to support VNA. You may avoid capital gains tax by donating securities (individual stocks, bonds, mutual funds) and certain other types of property that have gained in value. With gifts of stock, you will receive an income tax charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the stock at the time of the gift.
You can make a significant gift to VNA by naming VNA as a beneficiary of a will, retirement account or life insurance policy.
Visiting Nurse Association’s patients depend on and receive high-quality health care, but some patients need a little extra help during the holidays.
As a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing care to the community’s ill, frail and elderly, VNA is pleased to be able to offer comfort and cheer during the holiday season. Adopt-A-Family can provide food and gift baskets, as well as much-needed economic and emotional support, to patients without friends and family and who have limited or no financial resources.
In 2009, thanks to the support from community organizations, corporate donations and generous volunteers and donors, VNA’s Adopt-A-Family program touched the lives of 183 families.
Contact Theresa Grill, Volunteer Services manager, 303-698-6387, to adopt a family for the holidays.
