Holidays and PTO Accruals
Agency Recognized HolidaysThe Agency currently recognizes six paid holidays. Appointed (benefit eligible) employees are paid for designated holidays prorated based upon FTE (full-time equivalency).
PTO Accruals (Vacation & Sick Leave)The Visiting Nurse Corporation offers a combined vacation and sick leave bank (PTO) to benefited full and part time employees. Employees begin accruing time from date of hire or date of change to benefit status, but are not eligible to use PTO until completion of three (3) months of benefited employment. PTO accrual is used to pay for the hours when work is missed, due to illness or personal time off. It is an all-inclusive sick and vacation policy, so employees need to think ahead when planning time off. Effective March 2, 2008, the Agency offers the following PTO accrual rates.

Newly
appointed management (defined as employees holding a position in EEOC job
category 1) will be assigned a PTO date equal to one year greater than hire,
thereby beginning accruals in the 1 though 5 year group. The PTO bank may be carried from year to year to a maximum of 250 hours. For additional information on paid time off and the usage of PTO, see the Employee Handbook. |
