A mutual fund plan through The
American Funds Group is currently in place for all
employees who choose to set aside money for retirement. The plan is a 403(b)
plan, which allows you to take money out of your
paycheck on a pre-tax basis and have the earnings grow tax-deferred. There is no waiting period for enrollment, and employees may
sign up for this at any time. Your contributions are immediately vested.
The Agency offers a 50% matching contribution to a defined cap.
There is a 1-year service requirement for the match with a 2-year vesting
schedule. Employee contributions are, however, always fully and
immediately vested. The match cap/amount is reviewed annually.
Currently the match is 50% of your contributions capped at
4% of pay.
Full-time and part-time benefited employees are eligible for tuition reimbursement upon completion of 1 year of service. VNCC reimburses full-time employees up to $1,000 per year for tuition at a licensed / certified / credentialed / registered institution. Half-time employees, (20 hours/week), are eligible for up to $500 per year. Rates are pro-rated based on FTE for other part-time status.
Reimbursement is limited to college credit courses through an accredited institution that are not reimbursed through any other program.
Reimbursable courses must be related to the employee's job and/or part of a degree program.
Tuition is reimbursed at 100% up to the maximum allowable in the year, ($1,000 for full-time -- prorated for part-time).
Employees must provide proof of a passing grade and proof, (i.e. copy of a bill and a check), that the tuition has been paid.
Books, materials, fees, etc. are the responsibility of the student and will not be reimbursed.
This is a first come, first serve program. To apply for tuition reimbursement, complete the Tuition Reimbursement Form, and return it to Human Resources with proof of payment and a copy of the course description.
