Event Descriptions

New Employee Orientation

These sessions provide information about working at the Visiting Nurse Corporation of Colorado, and are held every week unless otherwise noted (or in the event that there are no new hires that week)Attendance for all new hires is mandatory.

Non-benefited employees are free to leave early for lunch at the start of the benefit portion of the presentation (approximately 11:00 a.m.).  All attendees must return after the lunch break.  Current employees may attend upon request. Contact Human Resources, x5415 or x5348, if you or one of your employees wish to attend.   Registrations are required, as seating is limited. To register by e-mail click here, be sure to note both the employee's name and preferred orientation date.

Clinical orientations are conducted by the respective clinical groups, and begin after the completion of the general overview.

Management Training

As a manager, do you ever find yourself "learning as you go?"  In VNA Management Training, we'll tackle those key elements of managing that you encounter every day.  Classes will include lecture and presentation, hand-on learning and role playing, in-class planning, round table discussion and problem solving, and guest speakers.  All classes will be held on Thursday mornings beginning at 9:00 am unless otherwise specified.  Class locations may vary.  Class size will be limited to 10 participants to be sure there is plenty of opportunity for interaction.  You may register for each class separately, based on your needs and interests.  Classes are scheduled every three weeks from July through early December, so each class will be offered roughly twice per year.

CPR Competency Demonstration

These are 30 minute sessions for those employees who have had CPR certification in the past and can demonstrate these skills with minimal coaching.  Employees are required to demonstrate competency every 2 years.  Pick up a study packet and register at the front desk.  Please be prepared and be prompt to your session.  To register, you must have had a CPR card in the past.  Minimal coaching will be done in these sessions.  They are for Agency recertification only.  We do not provide American Heart Association CPR certification or a CPR card.  After successful demonstration you will be given a certificate of completion for your records.

Smoking Cessation

Considering quitting?  Check out the smoking cessation display tables, and check out these great online resources:

As a health care organization dedicated with the health and well-being of our patients as well as our employees, going smoke free is one more step we can take to help fulfill our mission.  As of Friday, July 31, 2009 the Agency became a smoke free campus.  There is no smoking on VNA property, including grounds ramps, sidewalks, public rights-of-way within and around property boundaries, parking lots and in cars parked on VNA property.

The Visiting Nurse Corporation of Colorado is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer
dedicated to excellence through diversity.
